Homemade apple pie spice

Autumn is nearly here so it is high time to finally introduce my recipe for homemade apple pie spice. This fragrant, warm and comforting spice mix is a perfect addition to the upcoming season.

Actually I am new to apple pie spice. I tried it for the first time few months ago and was hooked. I do not know why I never thought of trying this mix earlier as I love anything apple pie. So decided to make it my own and here it is. Autumn I am ready for you!

The ratios in the below recipe card are my personal preference so feel free to adapt it to your own liking.

How to make homemade apple pie spice

I think this is the easiest recipe on my blog as basically the only thing you have to do is to mix all the spices together. Done and dusted.

How to use homemade apple pie spice

This spice blend will go beautifully with any apple dessert, breads, drinks etc.

• Add few tablespoons to an apple pie filling.
• Use it in any apple bakes, breads, cookies, meringues, you name it.
• Add some sugar to the mix and then sprinkle it on you latte or cappuccino.
• Mix it with honey and stir it in in your hot tea.
• My favourite way to use this spice is to make a toast, spread some butter and sprinkle this mix with a little bit of brown sugar - it tastes divine.
• Use this spice to flavour buttercream, frosting etc like I did in my apple pie buttercream frosting), I will be sharing my new recipe soon).
• You can also make apple pie compound butter to add on your pancakes or waffles.

How to store homemade apple pie spice

Store the spice mix in a jar or in any dry container in a dark and dry space.
