Are you looking for a great idea for dinner, a birthday party or pretty much any family event? Look no further and make my overnight soft pizza rolls. These rolls are great for dinner, lunch or as a snack. They are everyone's favourite food. Even kids like these soft, fluffy and cheesy pizza rolls. My recipe is simple and the results are delightful.
My recipe is pretty straightforward to make, there are no special skills required, but there are a few tips that will help to achieve the best results:
There is many ways you can serve overnight soft pizza dough. I would recommend serving rolls warm, ideally straight from the oven.
You can serve these rolls on their own as a snack or as a main meal for dinner. I love serving them with garlic and yoghurt dip. They would be great as side dish as well, for example with a bowl of hot tomato and roast pepper soup.
If you are planning a birthday party, a garden party or sports night for your friends and family, make pizza rolls- these golden beauties never disappoint.
These cheesy golden pizza rolls taste incredible. The dough is soft and pillowy and is flavoured with mild Italian spices. In between the dough there are layers of delicious buttery ham, melted oozing cheese and tangy tomato sauce. Every bite tastes fantastic and makes you crave for more.
Store overnight soft pizza rolls in a fridge for up to 5 days in an air-tight container or in a zip lock bag. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months. I would recommend freezing them in a zip lock bag as well. make sure they are completely cold before freezing. In order to defrost pizza rolls, take them out of the freezer and leave them at room temperature for at least one hour.
In order to reheat the rolls, preheat your oven to 130C fan (266F), place them on a baking tin and warm up for about 6-8 minutes.

I always recommend weighing ingredients as it always to achieve the best results every time. The US measurements in cups are the estimates only and I can not guarantee the best results.
In a small pot, warm up milk. Do not boil it. If your milk is too hot it will kill the yeast and bread rolls will not raise.
Add sugar and yeast, stir well and set aside for 20 min. Yeast needs time to activate.
In a big bowl, add flour, salt, spices (add only spices for pizza dough) eggs and using a hook attachment or your hands start kneading the dough. Knead dough for about 10 minutes or so until dough becomes unified.
Add oil and knead the dough for another 2 or 3 minutes until all the oil is incorporated. Shape it into a ball and leave it in a bowl to raise for about 1 h and 30 min. Cover the dough with cling film and a kitchen towel. Dough should double in size. Make sure that temperature in your house is at least at 19C (67F) or warmer. The lower the temperature in your house the longer it will take for dough to raise. As an option you can turn on your oven to the lowest setting, or just turn on the light and place dough there. Follow this step if you want to bake rolls on the same day.
If you want to bake rolls the next day, place dough in a fridge overnight. When you are ready to bake, remove dough from oven and let it sit at room temperature for about 40 minutes.
When dough doubled in size, move dough on a clean working area and knead with your hands for about 3 minutes. It will help to remove gas from dough.
Using a rolling pin, roll dough into a rectangle.
In a small bowl mix together water, salt, spices and tomato puree, mix well. Using a small brush or a spoon spread tomato sauce on the dough.
Add butter on a medium pan. Let it melt and then add sliced or cut ham. Fry for 2-3 minutes and then add on top of tomato sauce.
Add cheese on top.
Roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 16 portions.
Prepare a large baking tray lined with baking paper. Please rolls on the baking tray, leave about 2-3 cm (about 1 inch)between each rolls and cover the rolls with a kitchen towel. Let them rest for about 30-40 minutes until they nearly double in size.
Preheat oven to 170C fan (338F).
When rolls are ready to bake, place them in your oven and bake for about 20 - 25 minutes until golden.
When ready remove from oven and serve hot.
