How to make tandoori chicken kebabs

Another effortless and easy dinner recipe that can be ready in under 30 minutes. The steps to make this easy dinner recipe are the following:

  1. Cut chicken breasts into medium chunks.
  2. Add spices, tomato puree and yoghurt.
  3. Place meat in a fridge for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. You can leave meat for marinating in a fridge for up to 2 days.
  4. Skewer meat on kebab sticks.
  5. When you are ready to cook meat, preheat your oven and cook kebabs for 20 minutes.

Please find below tips, that will help to achieve the best results:

  • Marinating meat is optional but I highly recommend it, it enhances the flavor and allow spices to infuse the meat
  • For this recipe, I have use chicken breast, but you can also use skinless chicken thighs if you wish. Chicken thighs are actually more forgiving than chicken breast. This is due to higher fat content. If you think that your chicken breast kebabs are always to dry, maybe you can check out chicken thighs instead.
  • Feel free to cook these kebabs on a BBQ if you wish, just make sure that meat is cooked through.

What do tandoori chicken kebabs taste like?

The texture of the meat is so juicy and tender, just make sure you do not overcook the meat 🙂 When it comes to flavor , it is outstanding due to usage of aromatic tandoori spice, tangy yoghurt and tomato puree. All in all, the aroma is very mild and leaves a satisfying aftertaste in your mouth.

How to serve these easy chicken kebabs

I love serving my skewers with aromatic South Indian lemon rice or crushed potatoes with dill and garlic. If you are looking for a low calorie and low-carb dinner idea, adding a small salad is also a good option. Oh, and I always add a dollop of Green yoghurt on the side of the meat it makes a wonderful tangy dip.

Another great idea is to chop the cooked meat and serve it with some vegetables in a fluffy naan bread.

Note

Tips:

  1. I have used powdered beetroot to achieve this famous red color on the meat. I read that some people use red food coloring, but I'd rather go for more natural options. But feel free to use food coloring if you wish.
