Succulent, juicy and perfectly seasoned homemade chives and chipotle beef burgers are on the menu in our home today! These burgers are bursting with flavour and will become everybody’s favourite!
How to make Chives and chipotle beef burgers
In order to make this recipe, you do not need to be a masterchef. To make these amazing burger you only need to add all the ingredients in a bowl. I would encourage you to use high quality minced (ground) beef. For burger I would recommend using 80/20 ratio. 80% meat and 20% fat. This is the best ratio for burgers as fat helps burgers stay juicy and moist.
What makes chives and chipotle beef burgers sooooo good?
Chives and chipotle chili are the main flavour agents in recipe. Chives adds sharpness and freshness to the burger. I would highly recommend using fresh chives as it really makes the difference. I tried this recipe using dried chives and the flavor was not as potent as with fresh chives.
Chipotle chili – absolutely love it! adds so much complexity and flavour. What is chipotle chili? It is basically a smoked ripe jalapeno chili pepper. It brings deep earthy, smoky flavour to this dish.
How to serve these delicious beef burgers?
These burger deserve to be served only with the best ingredients. I love serving them with rashers of crispy smoked bacon, melted Jack cheese, perfectly fried egg and slices of ripe beef tomato. All of the goodness is then put between fluffy and light sesame seeds bun.

Ingredients
Instructions
-
Place two chipotle chilis in a small dish and soak them in hot water for 20 minutes (or longer if necessary). The aim of this step is to rehydrate chilis. When chilis are ready, remove the stems and seeds.
-
Grind onion, rehydrated chipotle chilis and garlic in a food processor until smooth.
-
In a medium bowl add beef, egg, breadcrumbs, grinded onion and garlic, chipotle chili, chives and spices.
-
Using your hand or a spoon mix all the ingredients until you receive a unified mixture.
-
Place meat in the fridge for at least one hour, ideally overnight.Â
-
When you are ready to make burgers, divide meat into portions - I have divided mine into 8 portions and the weight of my burger was approximately 95 g each.
-
Prepare large pan with vegetable oil. Heat it up until oil is hot.  Gently place burgers on the pan. Fry burgers for around 4 min each until fully cooked.
-
Serve burger with your favourite buns, sauces and toppings.
-
Store burgers in the fridge in an-air-tight container for up to 5 days of in the freezer for up to 2 months.
