That is right . I make this dish at least once a week and I can’t get enough of it. Especially on a very busy day, when cooking is the last thing on my mind but I want to eat something nutritious. This miso green onions pork never disappoints.

How to make miso green onions pork

As I mentioned above this dish is very easy and fast to make. There are only couple of straightforward steps. You need to fry minced pork, add spices, miso, peas, sesame seeds, green onions and fry it until done. This is all.

TIPS:

  1. Use a high quality minced pork.
  2. Stick to the amount of miso that is in the recipe. I have tested it many times and thought that adding a lot of miso will boost the flavour, but it was the other way round. One tbsp of miso paste is absolutely enough to create a wonderfully balanced dish. Adding more than this will overpower the dish and make it very salty.
  3. Green onions – I chop all the green onion I have and the divide into into half. Add half to the meat and fry it and then I add the rest at the very end. Fresh green onions add loads of freshness, sharpness and crunch to the dish.
  4. Chili flakes are optional, I only add a tine bit for extra colour.
  5. You can prepare meat in advance and then warm it up and add vegetables at the end. This is what I always do when I’m back from work, I only add peas and green onions and have a delicious dinner in 10 minutes.
  6. This recipe makes 2 portions.

What does miso green onions pork taste like?

The flavour is absolutely fantastic. The salty miso, sweet oyster sauce, sesame seeds and sesame oil, create the irresistible umami flavour. A generous amount of green peas adds sweetness and green onions add sharpness. All flavours are balanced beautifully.
