My recipe for chicken in paprika ricotta sauce is very easy, low-carb and tastes wonderful.

I am a huge fan of chicken breast. It is so versatile and can be cooked in pretty much every way. It is a great source of protein and a crowd pleaser. We use chicken breast in our house quite often and today I used it to make my new recipe – chicken in paprika ricotta sauce. This dish is very tasty, very easy to make and it is definitely a keeper!

How to make chicken in paprika ricotta sauce?

I love how simple and easy this recipe is. You need to cut chicken and add spices. For the maximum flavour I have used three different paprika powders: mild, smoked, and hot smoked. Then you need to fry chicken, add vegetables and then add ricotta mixed with water and cook for about 20-25 minutes. You can adjust thickness of your sauce by adding more water if necessary. This is it. Delicious dinner is ready.

What does chicken in paprika ricotta sauce taste like?

This simple chicken dich taste heavenly. Tangy ricotta cheese, potent fresh garlic and three different types of paprika powder create a beautiful and creamy sauce. The taste is very mild and perfectly balanced. If you prefer more spicy option you could omit smoked paprika powder and use two teaspoons of hot paprika powder instead.

This chicken dish is great if you are on low-carb or keto diet and it will fill you up for hours. You can serve it with your favourite vegetables – I picked red bell pepper and broccoli.

You can also serve this dish with black bean spaghetti. It was the best culinary discovery in the last few years for me. It is not only low-carb but it actually tastes AMAZING. You know, in comparison to other low-carb, cardboard tasting ‘inventions’.

Low-carb super easy chicken in smooth ricotta and paprika sauce

Prep Time 15 mins Cook Time 20 mins Total Time 35 mins Difficulty: Beginner Servings: 2 Best Season: Suitable throughout the year



  1. In a medium bowl add chicken, olive oil, all 3 paprika powders and black pepper. Mix well and set aside for about 5 min.

  2. Heat up a large pan with vegetable oil on it.

  3. Transfer chicken on the pan and fry for about 8 minutes. Make sure you stir chicken from time to time so it is cooked evenly.

  4. Add pepper and broccoli to the chicken and fry for about 7 min until vegetables are cooked.

  5. In a medium bowl mix together ricotta cheese, minced garlic, parsley, water and salt.

  6. Pour ricotta mixture on the pan and cook all ingredients together for about 20-25 min. If the sauce is too thick, add some water.

  7. Serve hot. For a low-carb or keto option serve chicken with vegetables.
